Hi, my name is Margaret Lee and I’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Registered Acupuncturist.  Balance and prevention are vital for a healthy vibrant life and this has led me on a path to helping others achieve optimal health. Living a healthy life goes beyond what we put on our plate or numbers on the scale. We radiate what we put in our mind, body, and soul. Eating whole foods, reducing toxic load, staying active, and a positive outlook in life are important as are a few indulgences to bring joy to the soul. Since 2006, I’ve combined my knowledge as a nutritionist with acupuncture to help others on their healing journey.

We asked a few questions about her dairy-free lifestyle as part of this series, Living Dairy Free:

Why are you dairy-free?

I’m not a big dairy eater to begin with, but I found that cow’s milk and certain cheeses cause some minor digestive issues. When I minimize the amount of dairy or exclude them from my meals, I notice my body feels much better.

Top five favourite dairy-free products?

I often find substitutes for dairy instead of buying dairy free products such as avocado. It does a great job in adding that creamy texture as well as healthy fats. Tastes great as a spread in sandwiches, mashed in pesto and blended into sauces. I also enjoy Yoso coconut yogurt in the unsweetened version. It’s wonderful for baking, added into smoothies or eaten with fruits.
